Pontatoc Canyon to Linda Vista Saddle
Saturday, March 29
Meet: Meet at the Health and Fitness Facility at 8:30am to carpool to the trailhead.
Description: The Pontatoc Canyon Trail has been extended up the Catalina Mountains to Linda Vista Saddle where it meets up with the Finger Rock Trail. The trail begins heading east from the Finger Rock Trailhead through a couple of washes to reach Pontatoc Canyon. The first 2 miles are narrow and rocky (like most Catalina Foothills hiking). Around the 2 mile mark, the trail continues out of the canyon then zig zags with frequent shallow switchbacks up the mountain in a wide open basin. This newly cut portion of trail was opened in the winter of 2025, so it is new, clear and different.
Length: 4 miles each way (total of 8 miles)
Elevation change: 3000 feet
Duration (including travel): 4-5 hours
