Hike: Upper Javalina for Saturday, October 12, 2024
- Meet at the Health and Fitness Facility at 8:30am to carpool to the trailhead.
- The Upper Javalina Trail is a trail on the eastern end of the Tortolita Mountains that utilizes the Wild Burro Trailhead located at the Ritz-Carleton at Dove Mountain. The hike starts up a sandy wash then turns north-west behind the Ritz into the Tortolita Mountains before exiting onto a road just west of the Ritz, and finishes with a walk up the road. The section of the hike in the mountains does have a number of elevation changes as the trail crosses a few small gorges.

- Elevation Change: 850 feet
- Time Requirement (including the drive to and from the trailhead): approximately 3.5 to 4 hours
